The Growth Lab at Harvard University, International Trade Data (HS, 92), Harvard Dataverse doi:10.7910/DVN/T4CHWJ, version 18.0 (released 2026-04-22), file hs92_country_product_year_2.csv (datafile 13685112), HS 1992 chapter 31 Fertilisers, goods exports, current US$. Read from the progrss vault, which loads the Growth Lab's own Dataverse file. Values are UN Comtrade reporter data reconciled by the Growth Lab with mirror flows (Bustos-Yildirim method), so they are estimates and can differ from national customs figures. Exports, US$ bn, 2018 / 2022 / 2024: Russia 8.02 / 16.88 / 12.41; Morocco 2.90 / 7.09 / 9.09; China 6.98 / 11.13 / 8.55; Canada 5.60 / 13.50 / 6.74; United States 3.91 / 8.18 / 5.20; Saudi Arabia 2.21 / 6.54 / 4.24; world 60.24 / 128.84 / 84.34 (2022 is the series high; 2024 is 35% below it). Morocco's ranks among economies in the file: 5th in 2018, 5th in 2022, 2nd in 2024 (previous best 4th, 2021); its 2024 value is its highest in 1995–2024. China ranked 1st in 2014–15 and 2nd in most years since; its exports fell from US$11.21bn (2021) to US$8.55bn (2024). Derived by progrss: shares 9.09 ÷ 84.34 = 10.8% and 2.90 ÷ 60.24 = 4.8%; 9.09 ÷ 2.90 = 3.1×. Values are in current US$, so they move with fertiliser prices: the 2022 jump in every country is largely price. Morocco's exports are mostly phosphate-based: HS 3105 (mixed fertilisers, incl. DAP/MAP) US$7.17bn and HS 3103 (phosphatic) US$1.91bn in 2024, first in the world in both. Interpretation, not checked on a Chinese government page: press and trade monitors (Argus, Global Trade Alert) report that China added export inspection requirements for fertilisers from 15 Oct 2021, which may explain part of China's fall. Cross-check, the live Atlas site (data version 2026_08_17, GraphQL API): 2024 Russia 12.50, Morocco 9.03, China 8.54, Canada 6.81, US 5.15, Saudi Arabia 4.24, world 84.45; HS 3105 Morocco 7.13, HS 3103 1.89; same ranks (Morocco 5th in 2018, 2nd in 2024). Chart ranks are by value: part of Morocco's climb past China and Canada reflects prices of phosphate versus potash and nitrogen fertilisers, which this source does not separate from volumes.
