source notes & method
Verified against the IMF DataMapper (WEO, NGDPD) on 3 Nov 2026: all 2014–2026 values for Nigeria and Egypt, and South Africa's 2026 value, match. 2025 is an IMF estimate, 2026 a projection. Nigeria's series reflects its 2025 GDP rebasing, so 2014 is higher than older pre-rebasing estimates. Dollar GDP is driven by exchange rates: the fall reflects naira devaluations, not only real output (interpretation). Nigeria −52% derived (386.67/811.13).
