source notes & method
Milled basis, thousand tonnes. USDA rice trade years run January–December of the second year (2024/25 = 2025). Shares are progrss calculations from USDA country and world totals. India restricted non-basmati exports from July 2023 and eased the curbs in late 2024, which explains the 2023–24 dip. The October report cut India's 2027 forecast from 25.0 to 24.0 Mt.
