source notes & method
SIPRI measures volume of major conventional arms (trend-indicator values), not money. Shares are five-year totals. Russia is the only top-10 supplier whose exports fell, mainly on lower exports to Algeria, China and Egypt. Poland (1.0%, up from <0.05%) is omitted because its baseline share is not a number. Global transfers rose 9.2% between the two periods. 'European suppliers filling the gap' is interpretation. Corrected 3 Nov 2026: title shortened to 10 words or fewer; no change to the data.
